SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The UIS men’s golf team finished tied for fourth at the UIS Fall Invite which concluded on Monday at The Rail Golf Club. Wisconsin-Parkside won the team title with a score of 581 while Drury was second at 589, UMSL third at 593 and UIS was tied with Southern Indiana for fourth at 601. Individually, UMSL’s Matthew Rau took medalist honors with a two-round total of 142, one shot better than teammate Tim Cochran. UIS’ top finisher was Ryan McKillips who carded rounds of 73 and 75 to finish tied for 12th at 148. Sean Bostrom (74-76) was 16th at 150 while Mark Klinger (77-750 tied for 18th at 152. Zach Phillips (79-78) shot a 157 and tied for 31st while Mike McKillips shot 73-85 (158) and tied for 35th. The Prairie Stars had three individuals playing in the tournament as well. Shane McCafferty went 78-74 (152) to tie for 18th while Tyler Scherer shot 77-80 (157) and tied for 31st. Zach Szuminski carded rounds of 87-84 (171) and was alone in 48th place.
