McCafferty Finishes Tied for Third at UIS Invitational

Shane McCafferty finished tied for third at the UIS Invitational.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Shane McCafferty finished tied for third after shooting a final-round 72 on Monday at the UIS Invitational at Piper Glen Golf Club.

McCafferty carded a 154 with rounds of 82 and 72. He tied with Justin Mueller of McKendree for third.

UIS as a team finished seventh at 652. Rockhurst won the title at 628. Individually, Matt Hancock of Southern Indiana took the medalist honors with rounds of 74-73 (147).

Along with McCafferty, UIS’ Mark Klinger finished tied for 10th after shooting 83-75 (158). Mike McKillips was tied for 32nd at 167 (82-85), Sean Bostrom was tied for 45th with 173 (85-88) and Zach Szuminski was alone in 64th at 189 (96=93).

Individually, the Prairie Stars got a tied for 19th finish from Ryan McKillips after he shot 162 (83-79). Tyler Scherer was alone in 66th after shooting 105-98 (203).
