WATERLOO, Ill. – Katie Boyd shot an 85 and leads UIS after the first round of the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Saturday at the Annbriar Golf Course. UIS is ninth in the team standings with a score of 353. Indianapolis leads the team standings at 303. Boyd’s opening-round 85 was good enough to tie for 32nd overall. The Prairie Stars’ Tiffany Blumhorst and Kelsey Blake each shot 89 and are tied for 41st while Abby Vorreyer shot 90 and is tied for 44th. Lillian Luker carded a 91 and is alone in 49th place. The tournament concludes tomorrow with 18 holes of action.
